Good morning from Germany,
today, just this photo from the city where I live, Berlin. I took it last weekend at Tempelhof Airport, the 2008 closed city airport with an interesting history and a vivid present. A so-called raisin bomber (“Rosinenbomber”) can be seen in the foreground. They saved Berlin people in the Berlin Blockade from 24 June 1948 to 12 May 1949 when the Soviet Union blocked the Western Allies railway, road and canal access to the sectors of Berlin under Western control.
The past reminds us not to take freedom for granted.
Greetings from Germany,
Johannes Eber
